Quick pics;
This is a random picture from the week before last that I didn't even know I had on my SD card until I was uploading some photo's of hail. The only reason I'm posting this picture is a "see, long hair!" photo posting opportunity.

And this picture is from the hail storm we had earlier tonight. Thankfully they were small, but they're still damaging...

(top left - front step, top right - patio, bottom - up close and personal with mother nature, the hail that hit me as I took this one stung a bit)

scared
I was just getting ready to jump in the shower (I've been procrastinating because I've been nervous and on-edge all day for some reason, and too creeped out to shower), and I was standing in my room when my stupid cat decided she saw something, attacked it for awhile, then ran down the hall with her tail in full-scared mode.
WTF WTF WTF
Then she crept back down the hall, sneak-attacked the wall, then ran down the hall making scared meowing noises.
/end shower thoughts
I'll shower after work. I smell fine. Ugh.

music: Lady Gaga - "The Fame"
WARNING:
ADHD AHEAD!!
*BELLE!!!!!!!I got you something, and it happens to be from McDonalds, pink, tells time, and has Hello Kitty on it :P
* Went for lunch with Melissa on Monday. She's the only female I've hung out with other than Jade or Cherokee in literally months, so it was weird but not awkward at all. We had a ton to talk about. We're both Virgo's <3 (and I know it's dumb, but I tend to always get along with people who have a b-day close to mine).
* I got my MAC Hello Kitty today! A lipstick, lipglass, lip conditioner and eye shadow palette. I'm a little bit excited (and by a little bit, I mean....ecstatic). Although I've tried all the lip stuff now, and.....the colors are SO DIFFERENT on me, opposed to anything I've seen swatched online. Oh man. I'll make it work though :P
* Alex posted a Facebook blog about Jack Daniel's (one of those "who is your best friend" blogs), and tagged me in it and no one else. Hahaha, he's so great. I doubt anyone will understand this but me. It's his 28th on Thursday!!
* Went to a hockey game tonight. The visiting team won, and I was SO STOKED (Wheaties <3). This particular update is probably only meaningful to Kerry.
* Work is up and done. I love love LOVE being a Cosmetician, even though there's so much to know, but I am absolutely DREADING working anywhere else in the store. I'm going back into people-phobia mode, which makes no sense.
* Some of my customers are SO ODD. I had a very, err, "eccentric" late-30s woman in yesterday who first of all asked what brand my hair color was, (Me: "Umm, mine?") and then decided to buy a color she found similar (which is odd because she had black hair.). Right before she left, she stopped, turned around and said, "Thank you so much for all your help--I hope I wasn't a bother. And I just thought I'd tell you...you're a very beautiful girl." I smiled/said thanks/made myself busy with cleaning. Awkward. I never really know how to deal with people like that. I've had a LOT of customers tell me how pretty/beautiful I am, or how "amazing" my makeup is, or how creative I am, or how wonderful my hair is, and frankly......IT'S FREAKING ME OUT. I've had more compliments in a month, then in the rest of my life combined from non-family members. SO WEIRD.
* Everyone I work with thinks I look 19. Most of the customers think I'm 19. Young(er) boys hit on me thinking I'm a teenager.
* I took some of the cupcakes I made to work last week and Melissa was flipping out about how I'm creative, although no one bothered to tell me if they liked them or not, so I figured they must have been awful. Then I gave one to Angelique and she was like, "Oh my god, these are from scratch? OH MY GOD!" and proceeded to eat the other that I had left because she reeeeally liked them (and she was being truthful, as she took the other that I had packed up to go home with me). And then she asked me to make her cupcakes. Hahaha. So I was stoked about that.
* Graham texted me and asked if I was still with Shayne. Graham......is such a creep.
* I've eaten so much chocolate lately I'm probably 100% fueled by sugar.
* I really, really, really want to go to a punk show and mosh (a bit).
* Lady Gaga's "Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" video is awful. Seriously. I can't ever watch it again if I wish to enjoy the song.
/end random

crazy-good tunes for me!

Holllllllla!
Jade and I went out again tonight, to the Lyric to watch some random bands we know play some random songs they know. Was it worth the $5 cover and $4 drink? Not so much. But it was amusing, and we hung out with some of the guys from last weekend, although that was semi-awkward. Whatevs.
Anyway--I went mad and baked cupcakes today!! And then proceeded to eat about a dozen of them. Seriously. I've eaten so much shit today it's amazing. Cupcakes. McDonalds. V-day candy. WOO. My stomach is aching hardcore.
Oh, speaking of McDonalds...

Check out my highly awesome Hello Kitty Happy Meal Toy (I purchased it separately). SOOOOOO CUTE. I kept reading everyone's complaints online that the watches were "so small" and only meant for someone 4' tall"--wtf does height have to do with wearing a watch? Maybe because they're uhh, plastic and in a Happy Meal, sure, but I'm clearly rockin' the plastic Hello Kitty Rockstar watch.
I know you're jealous.
Jokes aside, I did make cupcakes today. It took me from about 930am to 2pm from step one to the last bowl cleaned. It was certainly no easy task, making cupcakes and frosting from scratch, and then "artistically" decorating each and every one of the little cupcakes faces--I bought a Wilton cake decorating beginner's kit, as I've never actually decorated cupcakes before (other than with a Ziploc bag that has a corner cut out), so needless to say I'm somewhat stoked at their cuteness.

( More photos heeeeeeeere! )
Anyway--over the last few days I've been told I look like;
- Sarah Silverman
- Kim Kardashian
- Cher
WHAT IN THE HELL? And tonight Jade told me my bangs were "very Lady Gaga," which is awesome. Hahaha. Not gonna' lie. Not what I was going for, but whatevs, I heart Lady Gaga.
Anyway, that leads me to THIS question:
Have you ever been
told that you
look like/resemble
a celebrity?
If so, who?
Anyway, I'm off to attempt sleep (aka nerd out for awhile and read before bed).
Night lovelies!!

I had a wicked night.
I unfortunately drank for the first time in awhile, but whatever, I had a sweet time.
I owe some friend of Jades $5? Or $6. For a cab ride home. Otherwise I'd have walked across town--not safe! Sadly, he did say, "Wanna' come over for a few drinks?" "NO."
YOUNG BOYS ARE SO BRAZEN.
Random; I feel so guilty that young, cute guys flirted with me all night. I didn't flirt; I was friendly, but not over the line. But I aaaaammmmm prrreettttyy....happy right now.
Seriously, best day in MONTHS. Shit, today, (the 6th) RULED!

music: Lady Gaga - "Starstruck"
Quick update.
- Gung Hey Fat Choy/Gong Hei Fat Choi/Kung Hei Fat Choy/Gong Xi Fa Cai/Happy Chinese New Year!
- Work is...interesting. I'll post more about that soon, I promise (because I know you guys really care).
- Spent last Saturday in Regina, used some of my Christmas gift cards up, aaand spent some cash (clothes, boots, makeup. Helllllls yeah).
- Found this absolutely hilarious;
I was listening to the song "Boys Boys Boys" by Lady Gaga (whatevs, she's my guilty pleasure music lately), and the line "Boys boys boys, buy us drinks in bars," my mum heard as, "Boys boys boys, buy us crimson bra's." I think it's hilarious and cute. What?
- I've only talked to Shayne twice in 7 days, totaling <7 minutes because he's working in god-knows-where Alberta, and they have no phone service, and their work camp is powered by generators o_O
- I can't find Tetley Sencha Japanese Green Tea anywhere in town, so I settled for Decaf Pear Lychee Green Tea and now I'm nauseous.
- I broke my FAVORITE pair of earrings in the entire world today. I'm srsly heart-hurt. I'll post a pic, and if anyone ever ventures into Suzy Shier (shut up), they can pick up a pair or three and I'll reimburse them, pay for shipping, and throw in extra $$$ for your troubles ^o^
- I have a feeling everyone I know will soon be engaged/married except me. I'm quite fine with that (I don't believe in marriage), but it's WEIRD. Seriously, everyone I hang out with, talk to, etc, is married, "promise ringed," engaged, or has a few kids. That's.......so wrong. I'm starting to feel like I need to buy an "eccentric" old house, and a couple dozen cats, and get my spinster on.
- I like lists.
- I need to go to bed because it's 1:07a.m, and I work 10-6 tomorrow, and I still want to get in an hour of Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness because I'm getting mega-desperate to at least somehow get my horse and dog, and I can't figure out how. And I haven't won a single fricking contest and therefore have no Wonderfuls or whatever-the-eff they're called. Wondertools? Awesome tools of mass farm destruction.
Oh, shit, QUICK UPDATE? Yeah right. I love typing.
xoxo, Courtney

mood:
sick
My lip just got stuck to a spoon.
No, seriously, my lip was stuck to a spoon. I took a spoonful of ice cream, and when I went to move the spoon back from my mouth, the freaking thing was stuck. My lip is actually *hurting* because the spoon came off, with some of my uhhh...lip-skin.
Soooo freaking painful, and random, and generally "WTF"-ish.
What's the weirdest,
most random thing
to ever happen to
you?
I'd say my lip accidentally getting stuck to a spoon wins for randomness. Had I been eight years old it would have been cool (like, licking a lamppost/mailbox to see if your tongue sticks. It does.)
Oh, and in the land of good news (I guess, haha), I got a job! Nothing too *prestigious* or anything (ha, nothing in this town is), but it's in the Cosmetics Department (surprised?) in a drugstore/pharmacy that has some pretty decent brands of makeup (GOSH, Quo, some Dior, and an impressive perfume selection), which is pretty sweet. Plus, it's literally a block away from my house. Which is double score, because I can walk there and not have to spend a penny on fuel ^_^ I start tomorrow morning (ugh, haha).
I went to a (WHL) hockey game with my Mum tonight (I love hockey, for those who don't know), and there was this creepy guy sitting two seats away from me that spent the entire night staring at me. I mean staring. It wasn't even flattering or anything, it was just creepy--had he at least been nonchalant I might not have cared, but I was creeped out! At one point he had his cellphone out and was casually pointing it in my direction and I thought "WTF, is he going to take a picture of me?" so I turned so I was facing a different direction until he put his phone away. So effing creepy.
But, on a non-creepy note, I was at the casino today (ha, no, not gambling, I'm too cheap) and noticed this adorably cute guy checking me out (as opposed to creeper staring at me while I was with my *Mum*), and it suddenly hit me that it was a guy I went to school with/had a massive crush on nine years ago. He looked exactly the same, and I really considered saying hi, but then I had no desire to strike up conversation because there's no way on earth he recognized me, plus it would have been awkward considering he was smiling at me. I would have felt like I was flirting or something, 'cause he was so cute--and then I would have felt hella guilty, for no reason, and then been all, "Oh, hey Shayne, blah blah blah, I talked to some guy today that I used to like when I was a teenager" and Shayne would have been pissed off (or gone out and flirted with someone). Long distance relationships are hard. X_X.
Actually, I just talked to Shayne and told him about my day, hahaha. He laughed :P
Anyway, I have such a horrible migraine I can't stand to be awake any longer, so it's off to bed for me.
xoxo, Courtney

.WTF, MAC?.
Jan. 16th, 2009 | 02:49 pm
mood:
stressed

Kitty in a box!
But, you'll be bewildered when you find out what was originally packaged/mailed in that huge thing.
( WTF, MAC? )
Random Quote of the Day:
Aaaaaaand, I was supremely bummed when I got the mail today (not the FedEx'ed package, but the actual mail) as I'd ordered a 4-pan MAC palette from a fellow LJ user, and the palette is broken. Not the entire palette, but the right hand side of it is broken off, and, ehh, not aesthetically pleasing. Oh well,it still holds the eyeshadow, so whatever.
Random question time!!
What is your favorite perfume
(or cologne, or scent)?
I personally love/wear J'adore Dior, Viva La Juicy and Harajuku Lover's "G".
But not all at once, because that would be gross.

Bored, so a few pics, and some ramblings ^_^
And just so you know, there's SO MUCH RANDOM in this post!!
But first, a question; What do *you*
wear, when you're
hanging out around
your house?
DON'T SAY "NOTHING," PERVERTS :P
I ask this because I've been told it's weird that I change my clothes (work clothes/shopping clothes/night out clothes) as soon as I walk in the door basically. Usually into a hoodie and shorts, or a tank top and shorts or a housecoat if I'm freeeeezing cold and feel the need to be snuggly-comfy.
Anyway, on with the pic-spam @_@

NAIL ART!
Behind the cut you will see a pathetically large "nail art" supply that I didn't realize was growing to monstrous proportions until I took these pictures o_O
( Nail art, quotable, sushi pan, Canadian weather, etc! )
Thanks for reading!!

( Nail art, quotable, sushi pan, Canadian weather, etc! )
Thanks for reading!!

I'm not sure why, but my day has been spent primarily in the kitchen--yeah, I like spending time in the kitchen, but heck no I won't cook for you unless you do the dishes >=O
Seriously though, I love cooking so much.
Thus Far:
¤ Peppermint Cookies (aka peppermint shortbread with peppermint icing--a little too Christmas-y for January, but it uses up candy canes ^_^)
¤ Chai Latte (using a coffee pot for tea bags & spices, and the stove-top to warm milk & french vanilla non-dairy cream, and I forget what else)
¤ Making "Sushi Pan" right meow, just waiting for my rice--the recipe is based loosely on a "sushi pizza" recipe I read in a newspaper a few years ago, but instead of following the recipe at ALL, I just use the base of it to make "Sushi Pan California Rolls"...sososososo good.
I'm making a quick list of things I've ordered on the interw3b lately, who I ordered from, when I ordered, etc, so I don't forget x_X
( You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you... )
Last night was alright--went for a drink with Jade (it tasted the way paint thinner smells for some reason--perhaps I should stop drinking o_O), but it seemed like everyone just felt like being rude to us all night--the table of two older (45+) couples seated nearby couldn't take their eyes off of us, and they were loud enough that we realized they weren't being friendly. What the hell? People are douche bags. So we left there and went for coffee at another location--a place where even if someone were to make fun of us it wouldn't matter, because we pretty much own the joint (which doesn't say much considering the location, but whatevs).
Then I came home and for some godforsaken reason watched3 episodes of CSI: Miami, went to bed at 2, and had retardedly effed up dreams all night long (that included monsters, miniature people, and going back in time 3 or 4 years and still knowing everything that would happen in the next few years). No more paint thinner rye in the evenings--or, maybe no more CSI...I'm not sure which I should cut out.
"Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy."

Alright, off to make Sushi Pan.
Have a good weekend everyone <3

I really don't love looking for employment. I've applied at a handful of professional offices (Admin. Assistant) but I don't really see those working out because they do tend to hire people that they know well or are related to (don't you love nepotism?!), but I can't let it get me down, as I'll eventually find something, because that's how life works :D
I'm going to call the college on Monday and see what I need to do to either upgrade High School classes (yuck), or if I can apply as a mature student or something (or wait a year or two to be able to?), but I'm going to just give it a go, even if I just take a few classes at a time or something, I just *need* this right now. Plus, I'm getting old, and I need to do something with my life other than be a bump on a log.
Also, sadly, I've been going a bit spend crazy yet again (I thought that would end once I moved back home, but nope, it's almost as bad), but mostly because MAC is having a sale right now (until midnight tonight) and everything is 25% off. So basically, I could buy 4 eyeshadow, for the price of 3!!! I still haven't decided if I'm going to order (because I'm waiting on the Hello Kitty line debuting next month, which I'll probably go broke over, and I'm sort of interested in a few shadow from the Brunette Blonde Redhead line coming out tomorrow [?]), but good lord, there's so much that I want! My makeup collection mainly revolves around NYX and my (awesome) Coastal Scents 88 shadow palette, but I would like a little more variation in the form of shimmery eye makeup.
*sigh*
Anyway...I don't really use this much (yet), but if you guys have Twitter...add me?

I'm a weeee bit nervous about posting this, because I've *never* posted an "eye of the day" or whatever the hip, savvy makeup term is, but I have enough makeup and I do enough looks that I might as well post here and get some criticism :P
I use ALL types of makeup, high-end to low-end, because so many looks can be recreated with cheaper brands, but you do have a lot more color variation with, say, MAC.
So here it is, I'll write up what I used on my eyes as well, and I know that my bangs look wonky and uneven, and I'm not including a normal full-on face picture because I'm having an incredibly self conscious day and decided I looked too weird :P

( If You Could See Into My Soul )
Constructive criticism welcomed, but pleeeeease be semi-nice! Some CC is just harsh, and I'm not thick-skinned enough yet :P
I know I've seen better, and you all have as well, but I'm working with what I currently have (although I've ordered a few things in the last few days *sigh*)

I was trying to decide whether or not I was going to keep updating this, and it was something like 80% of me said NO, 20% said YES.
But then I realized I'd miss ranting here, but most of all I'd miss your entries and updates, sooooo I'm going to keep the journal, but I'm going to change it up a ton.
I've been getting *way* too into makeup lately, spending, ohhhh, well, more than enough (you ladies know how much a good eyeshadow costs *headdesk*), and I'm going to start blogging about it, just like virtually every other female on the Internet does these days. Not blogging about makeup (that would be boring), but doing product reviews. I know not everyone on my friends' list wears makeup (sorry guys), but whatever, it's something I'm passionate about right now, so why not? I'm sure the reviews won't be fabulous, and I don't have a VAST collection, but I have enough things right now that I can back-track, swatch, review, etc, and it'll keep me occupied for awhile.
Also I'd like to say HAPPY 2009!!!
I guess what I'm hoping is that if I keep a majority of my entries public, I'll be less apt to be miserable and bitchy...because I'm only that way in locked entries :D
Anyway, be on the look-out for a slightly more optimistic, happier, hopefully less negative and grrr Courtney in 2009!!

Yesterday, I drove just shy of 700km (435 miles) in blizzard-like conditions, white-out conditions, closed-highway conditions, black-ice highway sections, etc.
I managed to take the wrong exit out of Calgary (well, not wrong, just not my anticipated exit), and was "lost" on random back-roads between Strathmore and Brooks for about 45 minutes until I saw a truck merely tap its brakes, do a couple 360s, then hit the ditch. I then decided calling someone who knew the area would be my best bet (my dad, he grew up around there) and I eventually wound up at the Siksika Reserve Gas Station (where I've been before, but when Shayne was driving)--I swear, it was the happiest I've ever been in my life to see a gas station.
I saw roughly two dozen cars in the ditch (cars, trucks, SUVs, 4-wheel drives, semi's, trailers, etc), and that didn't include the dozen I saw stuck on Deerfoot Trail in Calgary, where the top speed the traffic went for 30 minutes was 40km/h (approx 24m/h). We crawled. It was the scariest drive of my LIFE! I've never driven more than 3.5 hours alone--in the summer, at that--let alone 7 hours in the winter.
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I left Red Deer at 8:45am, and I didn't get in until just shy of 5, which was just shy of 6 Sasky time. And I'm pretty sure there was some higher power looking out for me.......either that, or I'm just an awesomely cautious driver who knew when to drive the speed limit, and when to slow down significantly.
*sigh*
BUT, I did have an awesome drink at Starbucks yesterday--a Chai Eggnog Latte. OMFG, delicious. Go get one, right meow.
Anyway--back to my horrible attempt to unpack everything I've accumulated over the last 4 months. My closet is packed solid, all my dresser drawers are full, and I still have 8 boxes to unpack.
WHAT?!
It's weird to be home. I'd like to be out of here again by the spring...that's my plan at least.
Looooove,

I've come to the realization that there are people on my LJ that have never read anything I've posted, don't have a clue who I am, etc.
So, unfortunately, this post is for everyone.
Even if we've been LJ-friends for a million years, please introduce yourself. You can even include your birthday/age/and some random facts, too, just to keep it interesting ^_^
It's not really a friends-cut, but I know that out of 48+ people on my list, I've left comments for everyone that updates regularly (not that I comment regularly though), so it would just be nice to see who does more than just update their own journal ^_^
I'll start; I'm Courtney, I'm 24, I'm from Canada, and I use this journal to whine about weight-loss (hey--it's MY journal :P) and to talk about shopping, food and cutesy Asian stuff.
Your turn!!!!
♥

I just saw the cutest thing ever.
I was on my way home from picking up some groceries when I saw this orange cat racing full speed through the neighborhood after being let out of its house.
Then I saw another cat, this one brown and black, creeping towards the other cat, and both cats stopped dead in their tracks when they met up.
AND THEN THEY NUZZLED NOSES!
The orange cat (we'll assume the male), licked at the other cats whiskers and they rubbed their faces against each other again.
...I was going about 5km/h to witness this, and I almost cried it was so adorable.
I'm slightly pathetic! But it was SO CUTE!
